Congrats Summer. It is a huge event and should be celebrated.
Now we can spread our wings and continue to learn.
May all your thermals offer you the enjoyment that only a glider pilot can understand.

I had my Glider Pilot Licence approved this past Sunday after the check flights were done.
I have arranged a "Thank-you" barbeque at our club this Saturday, after flying of course, for everyone who helped and supported me along the way.

Well Summer gave her Mom, Dad, and brother rides in the 2-33 today. Then she did a flight in the Grob Twin Astir with one of our instructors. Then he sent her up in the Ka6-CR. She loved it!

Isn't the Ka6 a lovely bird? What did your parents think of your piloting skills?

Well my Mother was terrified, my father was nervous, and my brother thought it was awesome! All take-offs and landings were very smooth, and since none of the people in my family know very much about flying, they thought I was fabulous just for taking them up and bringing them back down in one piece!
And the Ka-6 is sheer beauty translated into flying. It was truly a joy filled experience to fly it. It felt so much like an extension of myself that for a minute I thought I was a bird.

Well Summer got a 1+ hr flight in the Ka-6 yesterday to finish her C badge. Good work! Now on to Bronze and Silver!
