Congrats Summer. It is a huge event and should be celebrated.
Now we can spread our wings and continue to learn.
May all your thermals offer you the enjoyment that only a glider pilot can understand.

I had my Glider Pilot Licence approved this past Sunday after the check flights were done.
I have arranged a "Thank-you" barbeque at our club this Saturday, after flying of course, for everyone who helped and supported me along the way.

an I come to the BBQ too? I want to escape the heat and high humidity.

Congratulations Val.

Well Summer gave her Mom, Dad, and brother rides in the 2-33 today. Then she did a flight in the Grob Twin Astir with one of our instructors. Then he sent her up in the Ka6-CR. She loved it!

Isn't the Ka6 a lovely bird? What did your parents think of your piloting skills?

Well my Mother was terrified, my father was nervous, and my brother thought it was awesome! All take-offs and landings were very smooth, and since none of the people in my family know very much about flying, they thought I was fabulous just for taking them up and bringing them back down in one piece! :D
And the Ka-6 is sheer beauty translated into flying. It was truly a joy filled experience to fly it. It felt so much like an extension of myself that for a minute I thought I was a bird.
